Howie shoots a pilot for the Travel Channel called 'Puppet Planet' set to air on December 10th
The Travel Channel has quietly premiered one of the year's most original series - 'Puppet Planet' - a bizarre mix of 'Borat' and 'The Muppet Show', featuring three people-like-puppets that tour around the holiday - and not so holiday - hotspots of Manhattan in search the spirit of Christmas. Along the way, they encounter a crazed Jedi at FAO Schwarz , swing from the trapeze in The Big Apple Circus, get crunked at Connolly's Pub, and even get to meet the original Batman and current mayor of Quahog, Adam West. The show, which features the puppeteering talents of Broadway heartthrob Howie Michael Smith of Avenue Q, will re-air on December 18 at 8pm and 11pm.  With all the crap currently clogging the airwaves (yes - Janice Dickinson - this is aimed at you and your whore-endous Christmas special), let's hope the folks at The Travel Channel will green light more shows.   - Brady Jargon
